River Tees Fishing

River Tees FishingFishing on the River Tees has improved over recent years especially as you get closer to the mouth of the river Tees. Middlesbrough and Stockton have increased numbers of salmon and sea trout with the increased numbers being counted as they pass through the Tees Barrage.

River Tees Fish Counts

The Environment Agency posts results of fish numbers at Tees Barrage on their site. The site displays fish counts  from sensors installed to monitor migratory fish entering and leaving the River Tees Barrage. The counts are testament to the hard work on improving the overall environment and water quality of the River Tees.

Anglers using the river are spoilt by some of the most beautiful scenery in England as it takes its journey to mouth. The river does have free stretches available, however the best stretches are owned by clubs or private land owners. The angling clubs have access to some quality stretches were good catches are regular.
